Aftertape support
Let's get you unstuck.
Start with the problem that looks closest to yours. If the answer does not help, email support@useaftertape.app.
01My board looks older than I expected
Aftertape may pause a save when two copies of a workspace change at once. It keeps both copies so you can choose the one you need.
- Stop editing the board until you recover the missing changes.
- If the board currently shows the work you want, choose Keep what I see.
- If another device has the newer work, choose Use cloud version.
- If you are unsure, choose Review saved copies and compare the times, episode names, and counts before restoring anything.
Neither choice deletes the other copy. Aftertape keeps it in Recovery history so the decision can be undone.
02My sign-in code or link does not work
Request a new code and use the newest email. Older codes stop working after a new one is sent. Enter the six-digit code in the same browser where you requested it.
03How do I know my work is saved?
Your account button says Saving while a change is in progress and Saved after the cloud confirms it. If it says Save issue, keep the page open and use Recovery history before clearing browser data.
04How do I close an episode without deleting it?
Move the episode through your workflow, then archive it. Archived episodes leave the weekly board but keep their dates, guests, notes, and checklist. You can restore one whenever you need it back on the board.
05Where do pitches go?
A submitted pitch appears in Pitches. Aftertape adds the person to Guests and creates an Idea card when your signed-in workspace checks the inbox. Keeping or archiving the pitch does not erase the guest history.
06How do I restore a downloaded backup?
Open Settings, choose Data & recovery, then choose Restore backup. Select the Aftertape JSON file you downloaded. If your board is empty, the same Restore backup button appears on the setup screen.
Aftertape saves the workspace being replaced in Recovery history before restoring the file, so the restore can be undone.
07How do the guest emails send?
Aftertape can send the invite, the booked confirmation, the reminder, and the published note. The invite sends when you accept a pitch. The booked confirmation sends when you save a session date and time. The reminder sends before the session. After you save the episode link, you can send the published note. Replies come back to you.
The send log shows the recipient, the message, and the time it was sent.
08A guest did not get the email
Check the guest email address on the guest record, then check the send log. If the log says sent and the guest cannot find the message, ask them to check spam. If the log says not sent, the message has not left Aftertape.
Copy email and Open email remain available when you want to send a message by hand.
09What is the sample show?
The public sample uses fictional guests. It is separate from your signed-in workspace. Creating a workspace replaces the sample with your show.
